CarMoney has different use cases from the typical dealership customer for Autonomy, but mtc was able to take our scope and implement it seamlessly during the build process.

With many legacy technologies coming with a maintenance overhead or API connection limitations, we chose to launch with Autonomy so that we can take advantage of the best tech from across the sector, connect easily with our dealer partners, and give our customers the best experience possible.

A legacy platform with growing maintenance overheads and limits on what it could connect to, and a national stock feed far bigger than any dealer's forecourt.

CarMoney was founded in Glasgow in 2016 as a digital-first car finance broker and has worked with mtc. since its first website. Customers arrive with a budget rather than a car in mind, so the site has to answer the finance question first, then find the car to match, from a feed of dealer stock across the UK. CarMoney wanted a platform that could carry that volume, connect to its dealer partners and keep adding integrations, with its own team free to build content pages around it.

What we built

A stock site that thinks like a broker.

Autonomy runs the search and the vehicle pages, with a WordPress site around them for CarMoney's own content. Every car in the Motors feed carries a CodeWeavers quote, and Get my Quote carries the car straight into the finance application.

From a monthly budget to a signed agreement.

The search starts with price, monthly budget and postcode. Once a buyer has a car, the quote is personalised by credit rating, the eligibility check is a soft search, and CarMoney's team takes the application through to the keys.

The search carries a national feed of dealer stock with a monthly figure and a cash price on every card, PCP badges, and filters for postcode and distance, so buyers can sort by what they can afford before they fall for a car.

The quote travels with the car.

The CodeWeavers calculator on each vehicle page quotes PCP and HP by term, deposit, mileage and credit rating. Get my Quote passes the car, its price and the quote into CarMoney's application, so the buyer never types the car in twice.
