Most people who look at a car online leave without enquiring. That's completely normal. What matters is whether you can bring them back.
A buyer who doesn't enquire today hasn't lost interest. They're comparing prices, waiting for payday or hoping the price comes down. Autonomy gives dealers two simple but effective ways to keep in touch with those buyers, and each one gives them a real reason to come back to your site rather than a competitor's.
Buying a car is not an impulse decision
A car is a considered purchase. Buyers shortlist several cars, often across different websites, over a longer period of time. They come back when something changes: a new car arrives, the price drops on the car they want, or a finance offer makes the monthly figure work.
Putting all the emphasis on getting a lead on the very first visit is a risky gamble, because whether they come back is left to chance. They might remember your site. Or another site's alert might reach them first, and they buy from someone else.
Price-drop alerts: tell them the moment it's cheaper
On any vehicle page, a buyer can ask to be told when that car changes. They leave their email address, and Autonomy emails them when the price drops or new photos are added.
The price alert fires whenever the price falls, whether someone edits it in the admin or it changes through a stock feed. The email carries a photo of the car, a link straight back to its page and your dealership's phone number, all in your site's branding.
The alerts are built so buyers welcome them rather than mark them as spam:
- Only the car they chose. Each alert follows the one vehicle the buyer signed up to, nothing else.
- No duplicates. A price drop sends one email, however the price was changed.
- Easy to stop. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- No bots. The sign-up form is protected by reCAPTCHA.
Offers in search results: show the deal while they're comparing
Many buyers decide on the monthly payment as much as the car. Autonomy can place your finance and promotional offers among the search results, so the offer is in front of the buyer while they're comparing cars, not tucked away on a separate page.
You control what appears:
- Relevant offers only. Offers can be set for new or used searches, and narrow to the make and model the buyer has selected.
- Your volume, your order. You set how many offers appear on each page and the order they appear in.
- Spread through the results. Offers never take the first slot and never sit next to each other, so the cars stay the main event.
- Leave some out. You can keep chosen offer types out of the search results.
What it does for your dealership
- Buyers come back to your site. Every alert links to your own vehicle page, not a marketplace listing where your competitors' cars sit alongside yours.
- You know who's interested. Every sign-up is listed in the CRM in your Autonomy admin, against the car they're following.
- It runs itself. Alerts go out automatically when a price changes, through the admin or a feed. There's no campaign to build.
- The deal is seen at the right moment. Offers sit in the results while buyers are comparing, which is when the monthly figure matters most.
